APRIL
Saturday 5th
April Rachael & the Redsocks – 6 piece (harp, cello,
electric bass & percussion) from the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts,
PLUS Fat Hen – 3 piece (harp, concertina, mandolin, clarinet, guitar, euphonium,
double bass) from Scotland 8.30 £5 (£4.50 conc, wearing red socks or carrying
hen)

Sun 6th April Intense Productions present a two day
seminar ‘How to make a micro-budget feature film and sell it’ 10am, £45 + VAT

Thursday 10th
April, "Occupation 101" award winning documentary exploring the
root causes of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and shows daily life for
Palestinians living under military occupation. 7.30pm

April Oxjam – a fundraising night for Oxfam – assorted
local bands thrash away for charity. Details to follow
Saturday 11th
April Family Fun Day – sumo wrestling, batarat, juggling,
face-painting, raffle, tombola, asstd bands and DJ Fundraiser for CancerCare
Tuesday 15th
April Six Poets invite you to an evening of great poetry
with Jennifer Copley and the launch of Flax Books’ ‘West Coast, North Hill’.
Also Chris Culshaw, Sarah Hymas, Jan Petersen and Trevor Mathews. Some spots
available. – first come, first serve on the night. £2.50, booking at

Fri 25th –
Sun 27th 2nd Annual UK Hurdy Gurdy
Festival – all over town, but we like to think its spiritual is the Greggie. See

Tuesday 29th
April, "On the Verge" documentary tells the story of one of
the most persistent and imaginative campaigns to emerge out of the UK's anti-war
movement and direct action scene. It follows a group of Brighton activists in
their campaign to shut down weapons manufacturer
EDO-MBM, who make parts for weapons used against
Palstinians and Iraqis. Followed by discussion with
Smash Edo activists. 7.30pm Donations welcome.
Tues 29th &
Wed 30th April Freehold Theatre present Michael Frayn’s
award-winning play ‘Copenhagen’ ‘one of the finest pieces of drama to grace the
stage in recent years’ 7.30pm, £8 / £6
Friday 2nd
May Real Music 65, classic era disco music, with jive
hour at 8pm £3 / £1, 8 - midnight
