GREGGY PHONES FOR US The Gregson Arts and Community Centre Charity is fund-raising to try to keep the Greggie warm and cozy and in one piece! For example: the Gregson Hall roof (leaking) and the main Gregson windows (rotten) are in urgent need of attention (+ community sound proofing, blackouts for function rooms etc); The Gregson long term plans to install a disabled access lift to the first floor need action; and a host of small scale funding issues all need to be tackled The Gregson is looking to raise money in a variety of ways: raffles in the bar; fund raising events; grant applications to National Lottery etc. Every amount raised is useful and will be directed onto a specific buildings or administration need for the charity. Its amazing how quickly small amounts mount up. Phones for us: One of the simplest ways in which the Gregson Charity can raise money is through converting old mobile phones to cash. Old phones in whatever state can be worth from £3/£20 to us as a charity if we send them in - they are then repaired and reused and so this process also fulfils a recycling strategy aim. We are asking anyone who has old, un-needed or disused mobiles lying around at home, if they would be prepared to bring these into the Gregson or the Britannia101 and hand them in to the Bar Manager - where they will be sorted out and converted into money for our local charity Arts and Community Centre. We hope you can help, and we'll keep you all informed of progress on this and our other fund raising programmes. Best wishes, Richard Dow |
